Swizz Beatz’s Newest Medium Is Your Living Room
Swizz Beatz has spent nearly three decades making records built for full volume. His new collection with CB2 is for what happens at home after the volume comes down.
Casa Dean is out now at CB2: 114 pieces of furniture, lighting, rugs, barware, and art, made with designer Evan Jerry of Studio Anansi. It's named for his family (his given name is Kasseem Dean), and that family is all over it.

It starts in the Bronx
The references are personal. His grandmother's plastic-covered couch. Her record cabinet. His father, a DJ who played alongside hip-hop pioneer Kool Herc. Those three things built Swizz's idea of a home, and you can see all of them in this collection.
"The way that I design music is the same part of my brain that I used for designing this collection," he says. "Art, furniture, design and music, they're all brothers and sisters. To me, it was putting the family together."
The Lam-Louie is the headline
The best piece is named after his father. The Lam-Louie is leather and burl wood, low and long, and it comes two ways. The media console ($2,999) doubles as a DJ setup. The DJ console ($4,999) drops the pretense entirely.
It's furniture that assumes you own records and have every reason to stay in with them. We respect that.
Mostly green, with a little red
British racing green is Swizz's favorite color, and it runs through the whole collection:
Kindred sectionals in olive green velvet, with a soft, swooping curve. Modular, so you build the shape your room needs. They also come in brown velvet and leather, from $2,998 for a two-piece to $16,950 for the five-piece leather L.
Brainstorm Accent Chair in green leather ($1,999). A chair for daydreaming by yourself. Honestly, the most relatable product brief we've seen all year.
Obair tables in red enamel and oak. The 72" console is $1,299, and the coffee tables are $1,499.
Baza Shearling Swivel Chair in taupe ($3,599). Round, woolly, and built for sinking into.
There's Murano glass lighting in the Cahya line (sconces start at $499), hand-knotted wool rugs, bronze mirrors, and wall art made with artist Megan Gabrielle Harris.
Where to start
Not ready for a $7,595 sectional? Start with the glasses. The Dean Inom smoked glassware runs from $22.95 for a double old-fashioned to $34.95 for a coupe, with a $99.95 decanter if you want the full set to live on a bar cart. It's the easiest way to get some Casa Dean at home, and you'll use it more than you think.
A green leather chair for daydreaming. A credenza that's secretly a DJ booth. Glassware worth a Tuesday. This is a home you don't need a reason to leave, or a reason to invite anyone into.
Casa Dean by Swizz Beatz is available now at CB2.
